This case study focuses on Johnson County Industries (JCI), a non-profit agency that has evolved since its founding in 1975. Initially established with a small grant and limited staff, JCI has grown significantly, now employing 225 staff across six counties in North Carolina. The organization provides various services, including vocational rehabilitation and community-based employment. The case study outlines the challenges JCI faced with its manufacturing management software, which could not integrate with its financial and accounting systems. This lack of integration led to time-consuming manual data entry, difficulties in measuring contract profitability, and errors in payroll calculations. The implementation of Vertex Production Management addressed these issues by automating data transfer and improving job costing accuracy. As a result, JCI experienced enhanced operational efficiency, reduced errors, and better decision-making capabilities, allowing them to focus on their mission of empowering individuals.
