This case study details the implementation of TeleStaff for a fire department facing challenges with its previous scheduling software. The existing system was inadequate for modern staffing practices, failing to address the complexities of a multi-generational workforce, seniority requirements, employee wellness, vacation equity, and payroll accuracy. The case study outlines the specific operational needs that were not met by the former system, including the management of various seniority types and the need for transparency in vacation picks. The implementation of TeleStaff introduced automation, allowing for improved staffing processes and employee self-determination in scheduling. It also enhanced data integration, ensuring accurate payroll processing and real-time staffing data sharing. The project timeline from start to go-live was 150 days, demonstrating a successful transition facilitated by a collaborative effort between the customer and the implementation team.
