This document is a case study detailing how engineers at a chemical manufacturing company utilize Visplore for batch process optimization. The challenge faced was the complexity of batch data, which hindered effective analysis and diagnosis of production issues. Engineers previously relied on manual data searches and Excel, making root cause analysis time-consuming and often based on experience rather than data. The introduction of Visplore allowed for the ingestion of extensive process data from multiple reactors, enabling automatic segmentation of batches and comparison of batch profiles. This facilitated the calculation of key performance indicators (KPIs) and revealed trends that indicated maintenance needs. The engineers experienced significant time savings in their analysis, with root-cause analysis speed increased by 10 to 100 times. The case study highlights the empowerment of engineers through data-driven insights, leading to improved efficiency and energy savings in production processes.
