This case study outlines the implementation and outcomes of the Flexible Access program, Bruin One Access, launched by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in Fall 2024. The program aims to enhance access, affordability, and convenience for students by offering a flat-rate subscription model alongside individual purchase options for course materials. The initiative is a response to the diverse needs of UCLA's student body, building on previous Inclusive Access efforts initiated in 2016. The case study details the collaborative approach taken by UCLA's store team, which included extensive communication with stakeholders across campus to ensure alignment and support for the program. Initial results indicate a high participation rate, with 74% of course materials acquired through Bruin One Access in its first quarter. The program has not only improved student access to materials but has also streamlined store operations, reducing reliance on physical inventory. The case study concludes with plans for future enhancements to the program, emphasizing UCLA's commitment to affordability and operational efficiency.
