This technical report discusses the application of LC-UV/MS workflows to enhance efficiency in impurity profiling of GLP-1 analogs. It outlines the growing demand for glucagon-like-peptide-1 receptor agonists as treatments for type 2 diabetes and obesity, which has led to increased analytical challenges in peptide synthesis and impurity profiling. The report details how LC-UV/MS platforms can alleviate the workload on analytical laboratories during method development and manufacturing phases. It emphasizes the importance of orthogonal mass information in making informed decisions to reduce errors and improve productivity. The study includes experimental methods for analyzing GLP-1 analogs under various stress conditions and demonstrates the capabilities of the ACQUITY QDa II Mass Detector in identifying impurities. The findings indicate that LC-UV/MS workflows can significantly expedite risk-based decision-making processes in laboratory settings, thereby enhancing overall productivity in the analysis of GLP-1 analogs.
