Performance Comparison of ACQUITY Premier Fixed-Loop Systems

This technical report presents a performance comparison between the ACQUITY Premier Fixed-Loop (FL) System and the ACQUITY UPLC I-Class PLUS FL System, focusing on their chromatographic capabilities with metal-sensitive and non-metal-sensitive compounds. The study evaluates key performance characteristics such as peak tailing, peak height, area reproducibility, and retention time precision. The ACQUITY Premier FL System, equipped with MaxPeak High Performance Surfaces (HPS) Technology, is designed to reduce metal interactions in the liquid chromatography flow path, which can adversely affect the analysis of metal-sensitive analytes. The results indicate that the ACQUITY Premier FL System shows improved performance for metal-sensitive analytes while maintaining comparable performance for non-metal-sensitive analytes when compared to the ACQUITY UPLC I-Class PLUS FL System. The report details the experimental setup, including sample preparation, LC conditions, and data management, and discusses the implications of the findings for laboratory throughput and chromatographic efficiency.
