This document is a case study detailing the implementation of software updates and security optimization practices by WaveAccess, a software development company. The objective of the project was to address service unavailability caused by software updates, which resulted in customer loss and business impact. The company faced challenges related to independent data transmitting modules and vulnerabilities to man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks. To resolve these issues, the team implemented Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration (CD/CI) practices, allowing for service updates without downtime. Additionally, the NeuVector security solution was integrated to enhance the transparency of component interactions and control unwanted requests. The implementation of an ELK logging solution facilitated rapid responses to operational deviations and automated actions to prevent subsystem failures. The case study outlines the technologies used, the duration of the project, and the size of the team involved.
