Core Software Modernization for Travel Organiser

This case study details the modernization of Cooltours' core software, a travel organizer specializing in language and educational trips for youths. The company transitioned from an outdated self-developed MS Access database to a modern cloud-based solution to manage customer data, offers, processing, and billing. The previous system's limitations included lack of mobile access and single-user processing, prompting the need for a scalable solution. After a failed initial modernization attempt, Cooltours partnered with DCCS, a regional digitization specialist, to implement a system based on the WEBCON low-code platform. The new software integrates all relevant processes, enhancing efficiency and usability while reducing paper use. It allows for automated document generation and improved data security. Future plans include expanding features for customer interaction and further sustainability efforts. The project exemplifies effective collaboration and the successful application of low-code and pro-code development methodologies.
