This document is a technical report detailing the grading and drainage plan for an access road at a substation in French Lick, Indiana. The project, completed by Williams Creek Management for a confidential utility client in 2022, aimed to enhance safety and improve long-term maintenance of the access road. The primary objective was to establish a stable access road capable of withstanding heavy use and adverse weather conditions. Key components of the project included the installation of 800 linear feet of TruGrid, a geosynthetic cellular confinement material, and the restoration of a half mile of the access drive. The report outlines the selection of TruGrid for its durability and permeability, which helps reinforce the roadbed while minimizing erosion. Additionally, underdrains were replaced and the area was capped with stone to further enhance drainage and prevent future erosion. The improvements are expected to ensure safe maintenance access to the substation, contributing to reliable power delivery and reducing environmental impact.
