This guide presents the Indicators Handbook for Just and Inclusive Energy Transitions, developed by the Global Commission on People-Centred Clean Energy Transitions. The handbook outlines principles and emerging practices aimed at tracking progress on just and inclusive energy transitions. It covers ten key principles, including energy planning, ending energy poverty, social dialogue, social protection, policy inclusiveness, respect for rights, investment in affordable solutions, implementation of secure solutions, sustainable economic growth, and quality jobs and workforce development. Each principle is supported by case studies from various countries, detailing lessons learned and suggested indicators and methodologies for effective tracking. The document aims to facilitate the understanding and implementation of just energy transitions that prioritize fairness and inclusivity, particularly in the context of the G20 South Africa 2025 presidency.
