This report examines the attitudes of Generation Z candidates, aged 18 to 29, towards the use of generative AI in the workplace, based on surveys conducted with over 142,000 job candidates. It outlines that despite being labeled as 'AI Natives', Gen Z demonstrates significant skepticism regarding the importance and impact of AI in their future jobs. The report highlights that Gen Z candidates express less interest in using generative AI compared to older candidates, with only 31% expecting it to be important in their next job. Concerns about data privacy are prevalent, and Gen Z is particularly worried about AI's impact in non-STEM job roles. The report also notes that while Gen Z candidates use AI at work at similar rates to other age groups, their enthusiasm is notably lower, especially in fields such as legal and education. The findings challenge common assumptions about younger generations' readiness to adopt new technologies, emphasizing the need for organizations to reconsider their expectations regarding AI adoption among younger employees.
