Learning to Empower Adolescent Girls at Scale

This document is a report detailing the first year of the Learning to Empower Adolescent Girls at Scale (LEAS) initiative, which was launched in October 2024. The initiative aims to create a global learning platform focused on empowering adolescent girls through evidence-based practices and knowledge sharing. Throughout its first year, LEAS conducted six technical sessions that engaged over 550 participants, including World Bank staff and external stakeholders from various sectors. The sessions covered diverse themes, such as inclusion of girls in STEM and access to sexual and reproductive health. The report outlines the operational strategies employed, including an operations clinic designed to support project teams in addressing challenges faced by adolescent girls. Key insights from the sessions highlight the importance of multisectoral approaches, the role of social norms, and the need for adolescent girls to be active participants in shaping interventions. The document also emphasizes the need for continued learning and adaptation to improve outcomes for adolescent girls globally.
