This case study details the collaboration between Soft Surroundings, a women's boutique high-end clothing retailer, and their agency, Wpromote, during the coronavirus pandemic. The document outlines how the shift in consumer purchasing behavior towards loungewear prompted the need for updated video creatives. Due to restrictions that limited traditional video production, the team utilized Google Ads' Video Builder to create new video assets quickly using existing image resources. The approach included leveraging a library of best practice templates to produce multiple video variants, optimizing the marketing campaign despite the lack of new creative assets. The results demonstrated that Video Builder facilitated the rapid creation of video ads, which significantly impacted performance metrics, achieving a 6.5x return on ad spend (ROAS) and generating $163,000 in incremental revenue during April 2020. This case study illustrates the effectiveness of adapting marketing strategies in response to changing consumer behavior.
