This case study details the strategic shift of Rapidity, a family-owned commercial printer in Central London, towards high-value, lower-volume custom print services. The company faced declining demand for high-volume printing and decided to invest in new digital presses that would enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact. After evaluating various options, Rapidity chose to install four Xerox® Iridesse® Production Presses, which offer advanced capabilities including CMYK plus specialty inks. The presses are ENERGY STAR® certified, energy-efficient, and designed to fit within the limited space of their refurbished building. The implementation of these presses allowed for a quick transition, enabling Rapidity to achieve significant productivity gains and a 60% reduction in energy usage. The case study highlights the successful adaptation of Rapidity's business model to meet changing market demands while leveraging cutting-edge technology to improve service delivery.
