This case study outlines the strategic shift of Rapidity, a family-owned commercial printer in Central London, towards high-value, lower-volume custom print services. Faced with declining demand for high-volume printing, Rapidity decided to invest in new, energy-efficient digital presses to enhance their capabilities and reduce their environmental impact. The company installed four Xerox® Iridesse® Production Presses, which offer advanced features such as CMYK plus specialty inks and a compact footprint suitable for their refurbished building. The transition to these presses was facilitated by previous experience with Xerox products, allowing for a quick implementation process. The new equipment has significantly increased productivity and provided high-quality results across various print applications. Additionally, Rapidity reported a 60 percent reduction in energy usage, attributing much of this improvement to the efficiency of the new presses. The case study highlights the successful adaptation of Rapidity to changing market demands while maintaining a commitment to sustainability.
