This case study details the transformation of a global gas turbine OEM's remote support strategy, which standardized over 200 power plants across more than 30 countries on a single secure platform. The objective was to eliminate over $1.2 million in annual on-site service visit costs while achieving compliance with NERC CIP requirements. Previously, the OEM faced significant barriers to remote support due to trust issues and compliance requirements from utility customers. By implementing Xona's Critical System Gateway, the OEM was able to provide secure remote access without direct connectivity to plant systems, thus satisfying compliance needs and enhancing operational efficiency. The results included the elimination of 600+ on-site visits per year, a reduction in support response time from days to minutes, and the creation of a new revenue stream from premium remote monitoring services. The case study outlines the phased rollout of the solution and highlights the significant cost savings and operational improvements achieved.
