This case study outlines the implementation of OSID-DE smoke detectors by a luxury movie theatre franchise in Mexico City to enhance safety for moviegoers and venues. The franchise, established in 1947, operates 214 theaters across 97 cities in Mexico and has expanded to other countries. The challenge faced was frequent false alarms and maintenance issues with the original spot detectors due to high humidity and ceiling heights. The OSID-DE system was chosen for its ease of installation, maintenance, and superior detection capabilities. It allows technicians to access the detectors without disrupting the theater experience, which is crucial for customer satisfaction. The installation of OSID-DE has replaced an average of 64 spot detectors per complex with ten beam detectors per viewing room, resulting in significant cost savings on wiring and maintenance. The franchise plans to further expand the use of OSID-DE in new and existing locations, highlighting its effectiveness and aesthetic compatibility with the theater environment.
