This case study details the water supply and drainage solutions provided by Xylem for the Mercury Towers project in Malta. The project, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, features a futuristic design and is the tallest building on the island. Xylem's involvement began in 2018, supplying GHV20 multi-pump variable speed booster sets to ensure water supply during construction. As the project progressed, Xylem's solutions were adapted to support both basement-level drainage and domestic water supply for the completed buildings. The installation includes multiple GHV booster sets with e-SV multistage pumps, which are designed to optimize performance while minimizing electricity use. The collaboration with local representatives and consulting engineers facilitated the specification of a robust and energy-efficient solution that meets the extensive demands of the development. The project aims to address significant water challenges while ensuring reliable service for its various facilities, including residential areas and hospitality services.
