Layered Approach to Enterprise AI Infrastructure

This document is a technical report that outlines a layered approach to enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, focusing on infrastructure isolation and workload orchestration. It discusses the challenges enterprises face in implementing AI, particularly the high costs associated with building their own AI capabilities. As a response, the report highlights the shift towards consumption-based service models, particularly through AI-as-a-Service and GPU-as-a-Service offerings. The document details the necessity for Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to invest in large-scale GPU clusters and the importance of maintaining high utilization rates across these resources. It presents a two-layer architectural solution involving Zadara's Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) for tenant-specific sub-clusters and ClearML's Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for efficient AI operations. The partnership between ClearML and Zadara is emphasized as a means to deliver a secure, multi-tenant AI cloud solution that enhances operational efficiency and commercial viability for CSPs.
