This case study outlines the implementation of a layer 2 Ethernet LAN (ELAN) solution by Zayo for a global fintech organization. The organization, which manages multi-trillion dollar trades, required a secure and reliable network platform to support its operations and ensure seamless communication between its data centers and offices. The challenge arose from the need to update their aging multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) technology to a high-performing and cost-effective solution. Zayo provided an economical ELAN solution that allowed the organization to manage its own routers for enhanced security. By leveraging Zayo's network, the organization achieved multi-carrier goals, ensuring network traffic followed distinct paths for optimal uptime and performance. Zayo's service delivery team managed the project efficiently, minimizing the need for the customer's technical staff on-site. The benefits included diverse routing options, MEF CE 2.0 certification for performance and reliability, and prioritization of critical applications through Class of Service options.
