Iperal Implements Scan As You Shop Technology

This case study details the collaboration between Iperal Supermercati S.p.a and Zebra Technologies to implement a 'Scan As You Shop' system aimed at enhancing customer experience in Iperal's retail stores. The initiative began due to a growing demand from customers for self-scanning capabilities, allowing them to scan product barcodes independently and pay at traditional or self-checkout kiosks. Iperal selected Zebra after an initial partnership with another supplier did not meet their needs. The solution includes Zebra PS20 Personal Shoppers and CC6000 Customer Concierge kiosks, which have been installed in 21 of Iperal's 53 stores. The project has led to improved customer satisfaction, reduced employee workload during peak hours, and increased customer loyalty. The ongoing rollout aims to expand self-scanning capabilities to more locations, reflecting Iperal's commitment to enhancing shopping convenience while maintaining a focus on customer service and operational efficiency.
