This case study details the implementation of the Long Line IP-based Monitored Public Address (LLPA) system by Zenitel for ScotRail, which serves over 90 million passenger journeys annually. The project began with the installation of LLPA systems across Central Glasgow and has since expanded to cover 275 stations, including the recent addition of 34 stations on the Ayrshire line. The LLPA system integrates a central control system that connects various rail sites via IP, enabling effective remote monitoring and control. Zenitel's technology, including the iPAM400 IP Amplifier Mainframe and iVENCS Long Line PA Control System, enhances communication across stations, allowing for live broadcasts and scheduled announcements. The system is designed to minimize noise disruption and improve operational efficiency, aligning with ScotRail's sustainable development goals. The collaboration between Zenitel and ScotRail has resulted in a reliable and flexible public address solution that meets the evolving needs of the transportation network.
