This case study documents the implementation of the Zeto EEG system at St. Joseph Healthcare, a community hospital in Bangor, Maine. The focus is on addressing the emergency department's needs for rapid and portable EEG testing. The study outlines the challenges faced by the department, particularly in executing timely EEG tests and ensuring staff engagement. A protocol was developed to streamline the process, allowing doctors to place EEG orders through EPIC, which triggers notifications for technicians. The training of staff on the Zeto headset and the benefits of having dedicated personnel for EEG tasks are discussed. The case study also details the advantages of Zeto's portability, ease of use, and the user-friendly cloud platform. Feedback from patients and staff indicates a positive reception, particularly regarding the elimination of messy gels. The study concludes that while Zeto has limitations, it effectively meets the current EEG needs of the department.
