This case study details the implementation of Zetron MAX Dispatch systems at Skagit 9-1-1 and I-COM 9-1-1 in Washington State. The primary objective was to enhance interoperability and ensure continuity of operations for both public safety answering points (PSAPs). The agencies recognized the need for updated technology to support their dispatch operations, especially in emergency situations. Key requirements included an IP-based system that would be flexible, easy to use, and capable of supporting remote dispatching. The project commenced with a joint request for proposals, ultimately awarded to Silke Communications for their proposal featuring the MAX Dispatch system. The installation process involved staging the equipment, which allowed dispatchers to familiarize themselves with the system prior to its arrival. The transition to the new system was smooth, with features such as emergency buttons for officers and the ability for agencies to operate each other's radio frequencies significantly improving operational capabilities. Feedback from dispatchers has been positive, indicating satisfaction with the new system's performance.
