This case study details the successful transition of Luton Borough Council (LBC) from outsourced IT support to an in-house IT Service Management (ITSM) system using Alemba Service Manager (ASM). The council aimed to enhance its IT service management processes while aligning with the Luton 2040 vision for a sustainable town. The implementation of ASM allowed LBC to streamline processes, improve service delivery, and introduce a user-friendly customer portal. The project involved careful planning to meet a fixed deadline due to the end of the existing contract. Key features implemented included incident management, service level management, knowledge management, and reporting capabilities. The transition was completed ahead of schedule, and LBC plans to expand ASM's use to over 30 non-IT analysts, aiming for a unified service approach across various departments. This initiative reflects LBC's commitment to operational efficiency and improved community services.
