This report presents the findings from four focus groups conducted in August 2024, aimed at informing the planning of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) in Health Professional Education (HPE). A total of 25 panelists participated, representing various disciplines such as nursing, medicine, and occupational therapy, among others. The focus groups explored participants' perceptions, beliefs, and attitudes towards SOTL and its application in health professions education. Key areas of interest identified included education within health professions, clinical care, and faculty development. Participants discussed their motivations for engaging in SOTL, which encompassed scholarship for promotion, faculty development, and improving clinical education. The report also highlights the institutional and professional association support for SOTL, as well as the challenges faced in promoting and recognizing SOTL contributions. Overall, the findings reflect a comprehensive view of the current landscape of SOTL in health professional education.
