This case study outlines the challenges faced by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office regarding performance evaluations. Initially, the office struggled with accountability, as managers could not track which evaluations were due, leading to manual searches by HR to ensure compliance with policies. Additionally, the lack of clear rating guidelines resulted in inconsistent performance ratings across the agency, relying heavily on personal judgment. The implementation of the Perform system has transformed this process by providing automated reminders for managers and allowing HR to monitor evaluation deadlines and progress. As a result, the completion rate for performance evaluations has increased by approximately 30%, achieving a 95% completion rate. Furthermore, the system has established clear definitions for performance ratings, ensuring fair and consistent evaluations across the agency. This standardization has significantly improved the evaluation process, enabling more effective alignment of feedback with performance ratings.
