This case study details the Caravan and Motorhome Club's transition from annual appraisals to regular one-on-one conversations facilitated by the OpenBlend platform. The Club, established in 1907, serves a membership organization for caravanners and campers in the UK and Europe. The HR team aimed to modernize their performance management system by separating pay from performance discussions and encouraging timely recognition of employee achievements. Prior to OpenBlend, performance management was characterized by annual appraisals focused on objectives and tied to bonuses, which limited real-time recognition and engagement. The implementation of OpenBlend has led to increased regularity in conversations, with 93% of employees using the platform for one-on-ones by 2023. The study highlights improvements in employee happiness, confidence, and stress management, as well as the Club's commitment to personalized development through the new Develop module. Overall, the transition has positively impacted employee engagement and retention.
