This case study documents a digital advertising campaign aimed at increasing account creation for a grocery chain's in-store debit card. The campaign was designed to enhance advertising targeting efforts by utilizing Semcasting's Digital Activity Index to identify ideal customer segments. The grocery chain partnered with a major payment technology company to promote an offer where depositing $500 or more in a new account would yield $50 back. The campaign focused on reaching consumers at optimal points in their shopping journey, leveraging audience segmentation strategies to retarget users who had previously engaged with the debit card landing page. The results indicated that while highly digitally engaged audiences were reached, moderately engaged users were more likely to create accounts. The campaign achieved a 2x lift on conversions and a 42% reduction in cost per acquisition, demonstrating the effectiveness of real-time audience insights and targeted outreach in driving account creation.
