AI Infrastructure and Organizational Execution Challenges

This report examines the current state of AI adoption and execution across various organizations, highlighting the gap between AI investment and the necessary infrastructure to support it. It details findings from a survey conducted with 4,500 executives and 2,000 employees across 19 countries, focusing on seven key pillars of AI progress: vision and leadership, management and culture, data modernization, AI governance, talent and skills, AI-enabled workflows, and driving value from AI. The report identifies a group termed 'Pacesetters,' which represents 21% of the surveyed organizations that have successfully unified their data and established governance before deploying AI solutions. It contrasts their approach with that of organizations that struggle with fragmented systems and inadequate infrastructure. The report also discusses the challenges faced by organizations, including data management, governance, and integration with legacy systems, which hinder their ability to scale AI effectively.
