This report presents findings from a Shopkick survey conducted between July 5 and July 12, 2021, involving over 23,000 American consumers regarding their holiday shopping plans. The survey indicates that nearly 22 percent of consumers intend to start their holiday shopping earlier this year, with 25 percent planning to complete most of their shopping before Thanksgiving. Despite concerns about inflation impacting budgets, 64 percent of respondents plan to spend the same amount as the previous year, while 15 percent expect to increase their spending. Key findings reveal that 61 percent of consumers plan to shop on Black Friday, and 67 percent on Cyber Monday, with a significant preference for online shopping. The report also highlights consumer expectations for in-store safety measures and the importance of free shipping for online purchases.
