This report presents findings from the Personality Atlas, a tool developed by Truity Psychometrics that analyzes the relationship between personality traits and geographic location using data from their Big Five personality assessments. Truity utilized a 3.6-million-person database to identify trends in personality traits across different cities and states in the United States. Key findings include the identification of the most and least extraverted cities and states, with cities in the Midwest ranking high in extraversion, agreeableness, and conscientiousness. In contrast, coastal cities tend to score higher in neuroticism. The report outlines how factors such as climate, culture, and urbanization influence these personality traits. Additionally, insights into the characteristics of cities scoring high or low in openness and the cultural dynamics at play are discussed, providing a comprehensive understanding of geographic personality clusters. The tool encourages exploration and discovery of personality traits based on location.
