Real-Time Lab Data Portal Implementation for Biopharma

This document is a technical report detailing the implementation of a Lab Data Portal for a leading biopharmaceutical company. The objective was to develop a solution that provides real-time access to lab data and analytics, enhances data visualization, facilitates communication between scientists and clients, and ensures secure access controls. Key challenges included data ingestion and integration from various lab sensors, implementing real-time analytics, and establishing access control and security measures. The technical solution involved building a centralized AWS data lake, utilizing AWS Athena for querying, and integrating Tableau for data visualization. The project followed an agile Scrum framework, allowing for iterative progress and collaboration among stakeholders. The successful delivery of the minimum viable product (MVP) within three months resulted in improved data accessibility, enhanced collaboration, and operational efficiency, positioning the client as a leader in data-driven biopharma research.
