This technical report outlines the upgrade process of TIBCO EMS from version 8.6 to 8.7 for a leading retail apparel chain. The client operates over 1,500 stores across the U.S. and Canada, relying on TIBCO EMS for critical messaging between applications. The upgrade was necessitated by the end-of-support for version 8.6, and the objective was to ensure zero downtime during the transition. Key challenges included minimizing downtime, managing application dependencies, ensuring data integrity, and coordinating multiple teams. XTIVIA implemented a structured, multi-phase approach that involved planning and assessment, environment preparation, upgrade execution, comprehensive testing, and go-live monitoring. The upgrade was executed without service disruptions, resulting in enhanced messaging performance, stronger security, and operational continuity. The report details the methodologies employed, including parallel setup for rollback, automated testing, and stakeholder collaboration, which contributed to the successful transition to TIBCO EMS 8.7.
